Innov8 DNA is throughout this Roclite 295: you have sensations similar to a minimalist model as it is very close to the ground. The natural running concept is fully evident where the foot pilots the shoe and not the other way around. In other words forefoot runners will feel more at home than heel strikers.
It is an all round flexible shoe even the twist. I must admit we did lose a little confidence in the technical bits with sharp stones. You can feel them in the forefront of the foot. But the grip in the mud is well appreciated. The 6mm drop gives a natural stride. The chassis has no power, it comes from your own push and vibration management if you land on your heels.
So as a runner you must be balanced and concentrated on your foot positioning, which becomes more difficult as the kilometres mount up and fatigue starts invading. The laces work pretty well via their 6 eyelets, but are too long. The Innov8 Roclite 295 is an unusual shoe that is happy on certain terrain (in the woods, mud, easy running) and for particular types of runners (forefoot).
