The Atomic is an excellent freerando ski for those adept at long lines. It may be limited in the uphill crossing a slope (if its not already tracked), in every other way it is remarkable. Lightweight, wide and its weight/performance ratio that is incredible. Due to the lightness of the ski there is some vibration in the front third of the ski but it’s not a problem.
It skis well in all snow conditions including mounds and choppy snow. The tip is very efficient and rapidly rises out of the snow. The Backland can also slide into its edges in wide turns. It isn’t as easy as on hard snow because you need some skills in angulation but it is nevertheless satisfactory.
This is a good performance freerando ski, pure joy due to its width and lightness. The tail never has any surprises. With a big backpack and sturdy build you would probably find its limits fairly quickly, but for most skiers this Backland is a real pow-pow hunter.
