This is a very good and stable ski on piste. 95mm waist but it works surprisingly well on groomed snow. We preferred this one to the Salomon in the same category with 99mm waist. The VU 95 Vantage is happy in long and medium turns where we noticed good precision.
It is stable and enjoys skid turns. It is a multi-tasker because it can change its directional effects. Tight turns are possible with skill. Off-piste you can feel it champing at the bit, like the Salomon. The tip vibrates on this particular Atomic when you increase your speed, it’s flexible but doesn’t lose its bite: you just lose your confidence.
It’s a model for a skier who would like to go everywhere but who is most talented carving a good arc on-piste. It is a great ski, very fluid with an 18metre radius.
