A very compact, ultra-light, tunnel shaped bivvy tent. Designed for long treks where there are no refuges, or if you just want to camp next to a refuge to avoid being kept awake by the competitive alpine snorers. Easy to erect after practicing at home: 10 min if the ground lends itself to pegs and even easier to take down and put away. Weighing less than a kilo it takes up minimum space, it’s easy to find a place in the pack.
Works perfectly for those spontaneous bivouacs in the mountains provided there is adequate space to tension it correctly. Set-up correctly it resists the wind and rain well thanks to its low profile, surprising with its tiny size. It’s not a 4 season tent but it is nevertheless pretty impressive thermally, we tested it down to +4°C without any problems at all. It is tough even if it looks flimsy because of the lightweight fabric used, but do take care not to catch it on rocks or branches. It has been well thought out, tough materials with practical details: inner pockets, self-blocking cords, great front flysheet porch to protect your backpack with good front and rear ventilation and good protection against the rain despite the thin fabric.
You can also use it in tropical climates as a mosquito tent without the flysheet. It also exists in a 2person size but perfect for one person, more room for 350g more weight. The fluorescent yellow is a bit aggressive on the eyes but it’s pretty useful for finding it in the fog or if the mountain rescue services are looking for you! A good long-term investment, priced a little high but well worth it with such high quality.
