The insolation jacket, sorry, the “coat” as the Canada Goose brand calls it, is a quirky product, very top-of-the-line in the outdoor equipment world. It’s a combination between design and premium materials.
Let’s jump into the technical properties, using one of the best duvets in the world, the Hutterite duck. this Canada Goose Hybridge Perren Jkt has a 800 fill power index, which is the top limit in terms of quality. We therefore have a very warm, and very comfortable jacket because it benefits from significant fill power linked to the premium quality duck down (and not a mixture with feathers with lower thermal efficiency).
Canada Goose has implemented a thermal experience index, which the brand sums up with the acronym IET, of 2. This figure characterizes products whose use is recommended in conditions ranging from zero to minus 15 degrees. The other major characteristic is the care taken in its design: thermal mapping different materials, stretch panels under the arms, at the ribs, elbows, waist, zips at the cuffs. The lines are beautiful and contribute to making this Canada Goose Hybridge Perren Jkt a superb product for the city as well as the outdoors. The stylish design is really successful: superbly chic. When you look at the price, you understand that you are moving upmarket: 795 euros!
We tested this Canada Goose Hybridge Perren Jkt skiing on the pistes. Its weight, 580 grams in size M, is quite high. Using it for ski touring is therefore not recommended. It is also extremely compressible due to the wide stretchy panels. On the other hand, you can use it for alpine skiing with or without a protective jacket over the top, the Canada Goose Hybridge Perren Jkt provides very effective insulation. It can even be worn, depending on the conditions, with just a mid-layer or technical underlayer. However, this jacket isn’t just focused exclusively on heat because the many stretch panels are not insulated. The jacket is therefore a combination between warmth and comfort.
It’s one of the very few down jackets that doesn’t lose any feathers. No feathers sneak out. The Canada Goose Hybridge Perren Jkt maybe water-repellent and strangely kitted with waterproof zips (for style?), it cannot, however, be considered as a protective jacket: its resistance to humidity is limited.
We liked the inside of the pockets, which are lined with a thin and very soft polar fleece. The collar is very comfortable. Its height is very good if you wear a protective jacket over the top but a little low, for our taste, if you wear the jacket on its own.
The Canada Goose Hybridge Perren Jkt, with its top-end down, offers first-class insulation. Effective for skiing, it is also very stylish and comfortable off the slopes. A superb product that stands out at a (very) high price.
