The Chaussette de France presents their Cashmere Pro as the Rolls Royce of socks… this is the expression that automatically slid from our mouths to describe this model.
This is a top-of-the-range product with its materials, manufacture and its slightly “bling” look using golden threads.
Their luxuriousness and design shouldn’t take us away from their primary quality: softness. They are sublime from the moment you slide the Cashmere Pro on. The combination of cashmere (53%) and silk (22%) is the beauty of this softness.
The socks perfectly follow the feet’s anatomy and have no unsightly and annoying folds. They reach the top of the calf. They stay in place thanks to a wide elastic top, that isn’t too tight and doesn’t hurt or cut off the circulation.
The small distinctive metallic medallion with the Chaussette de France logo adds a little “classy” side and no doubt limits counterfeits.
The socks are asymmetrical and it’s a shame that the right and left are indicated underneath the feet, we were always looking to check.
The thermal insulation is very good (we have had warmer too). Let’s say that the heat and comfort ratio is very high. The thicknesses, or reinforcements, at the tibial and the rear of the calves and outside of the ankles are effective and well-positioned. We would have liked a bit more presence on the inside malleolus (the reinforcement reaches half-way up the malleolus).
The parts that are exposed to the most friction, back of the calves, instep and underfoot, wear out more quickly. Is it the Cashemere fiber that has a tendency to escape? You’d need to see in the long-term.
We really liked the toe area where you don’t feel the seam (there is one).
Smells are limited but do not hesitate washing them often at 30 degrees.
The French Cashemere Pro Sock is a cozy haven. Warm, very comfortable and easy to put on. Thanks to its classy look, you don’t hesitate to show off your feet in the skiroom in the morning.
