We tested the previous version of the Kona visor by Compressport, the Spiderweb Ultralight Visor.
Compressport is back with a new version in Kona’s legendary triathlon event colors. The 2019 version has a modified design with a shorter visor. It reduces in weight from 36g to 32, which is quite negligible. It is exceptionally light on the head. It is basically the visor that is different on this model, being slightly shorter but still with good sun protection.
We tested it during the Embrunman this summer, in the marathon and training. You can hand wash it at 30°C. It doesn’t seem to retain bad odors.
There’s no adjustment, just an elastic strap that sits comfortably without press points or friction around the head. We particularly liked the way the Spiderweb Ultralight Visor Kona 2019 stopped sweat dripping into your eyes. The joint between the strap and the visor has a small rim, that you don’t feel, and sweat is channeled here and evacuated at the sides of the head instead of flowing on the glasses.
It sits perfectly on your head, the visor doesn’t move when you’re running, even when you pour water on your head. Its ability to evacuate perspiration is optimal.
Sunglasses fit easily under the visor. It also doesn’t take up any room in a bag and isn’t fragile (flexible material).
It is designed to match the Kona outfit: the T-shirt Postural Aéro SS Top and the short Triathlon Under Control Oxygen.
This Visor Kona 2019 Spiderweb Ultralight Compressport has great sun protection for any endurance sport, especially for triathlon. A good ultra-light product.
