The Compressport brand is well known in the trail running world but they have also designed a trisuit for triathlon. We tried it out. On the L course route of the Alpe d’huez triathlon, and with its tough bike route it was a great testing ground.
There’s no doubt that this trisuit has all the DNA of the brand. The thighs are tightly supported like trail running shorts. The compression is present but you forget about it in the action because the weave is soft and it stretches to follow your movements. This is one of the qualities of this suit, the flexibility of the materials, not obvious at first because it takes time to squeeze on and position. The second major positive point is the chamois which is thin and comfortable. After 120k your backside is still happy. We really appreciated the little anti-slip spots between the thighs: the saddle is not transformed into an ice rink.
Swimming the shoulders are free to move and you totally forget about the suit. Out of the water the humidity evacuates quickly and doesn’t stagnate anywhere.
For running the trisuit has two stomach pockets and a belt pocket at the back where you can slide a few gels. The two stomach pockets are not very deep – we did lose one gel. All the pocket positions are extremely practical.
What could be some discussion points? The zip ends could be more comfortable. At the top as well as the bottom there is a bit of rubbing, nothing too bad, but it’s a shame considering the overall comfort which is exceptional. Removing the label is a good piece of advice too, to avoid itching.
In very warm conditions and depending on your morphology the piece under the arms can be irritable.
This trisuit is still a very performant product, for all three disciplines.
