The Dalbello DS Asolo Factory GW boots are mega-precise, stiff and reactive, with a 140 flex and a 98mm last. Once they’re on – nothing moves! So, obviously, they are aimed at expert skiers, even heavier built skiers, who provide powerful pressure and go in for the kill on the turns.
The Dalbello’s main characteristic is their ultra-precise foot envelopment. Here we have a very narrow boot (similar to how Nordica’s boots are close-fitting, with enveloping instep and ankle).
The Dalbello’s conception has been carefully designed to detail, these boots are simply superb. The buckles are very technical and powerful. We did feel the visible screws on the hooks weren’t that aesthetic (but that’s a question of personal taste). Most brands hide them with plastic covers. A few little details lack harmony with the very flattering overall look, the liner’s tongue for example. The foam is visible with roughly done stitching, so you may wonder how durable this area will be.
The Dalbello DS Asolo Factory GW are stiff but relatively easy to put on. The tongue sits in place easily thanks to a little strap at the top front and rear of the boot. The insole doesn’t go out of shape when you slide your foot in, or when you slide it back out. We didn’t notice any pressure points around the ankle.
Make sure you close the boots correctly as the instep is the area that is limited in waterproofness. If the hooks aren’t tightened enough humidity will sneak in.
You can adjust the reactivity of these Dalbello in three positions: Race, Sport or Neutral. The power transfer is there without any doubt ! Super performant when you need to drive the skis at top speed.
The Dalbello DS Asolo Factory GW has standard thermal insulation for this type of performance boot.
We noticed the superb ridged insert underfoot. The GripWalk® sole aids walking with its good grip and stride motion. The adjustment strap was also a good point for the Test4outside team as it was practical and easy to handle with gloves on.
Without any doubt the Dalbello DS Asolo Factory GW are ultra-precise, rigid and designed for powerful skiers. Superb boots that are in the action at top speeds.
