We found it difficult to place these Dynafit Speedfit Pro 81 because they grip well on short turns on hard snow, but at the same time we expected a certain grip at constant speed on wide turns and we discovered skis without fluidity.
Carving and skidding turns are easy to do. You can hang on when carving but you set-off on very long radius and the front of the skis start flying, they vibrate all over the place, smacking at the same time and it’s hard to obtain a fluid turn. You get parts of the curve unless you charge the tips and flatten the skis to the snow. This is exhausting to do, going on the edges is clearly not what these skis prefer.
The Dynafit Speedfit Pro 81 are for skiers with an upright attitude, skis flat to the snow and who do skidding turns. More contemporary attitudes using angulation, a lower centre of gravity are not for these skis. You reach the skis’ limits quickly. The Dynafit Speedfit Pro 81 only weigh one kilo so don’t expect miracles with such light skis. What you lose in skiing skill you gain in uphill ease. For this the Dynafit Speedfit Pro 81 are on top – they love to climb – you barely feel them there.
In rough skiing, through bumps and forests, they do fly. In choppy or hard snow the ski tips vibrate too much. You really have to stay focused on the front of the skis.
Heavier skiers who want to go fast with these skis will be quickly disappointed. They are well-made, the fiber is visible through the transparent finish giving them a classy look.
The Dynafit Speedfit Pro 81 are designed to go up – and they give average downhill skiability. Fluidity is lost.
