This Faction has everything to make you happy ….on paper. The construction is beautifully executed, stunning finishing, there is a fore and aft rocker and an interesting tip curve.
But – once on the snow it’s a completely different story. The major problem with this ski is its irregular flex, which is too stiff up front. It provokes a lack of fluidity in the turn. The first part of the curve is fine with a fast initiation, but as soon as you try to find the ski edge on hard snow the second part of the curve is problematic and it loses fluidity and ease.
You immediately land on a stiff point just in front of the bindings. You manage bits of turns and then it degrades. As well as that the structure of the ski reverberates a lot and is very tiring. You’re not relaxed because the tip vibrates and makes noise, probably due to the pronounced rocker. You can lean forward to flatten the tip and it works a little better. At an average speed on hard snow it’s ok thanks to its pivot.
Off piste, your legs take a battering from lumps of snow. The tip lifts up fast and floats high.
