Faction Prime 2.0

We found it difficult to place this Faction Prime 2.0. As soon as you start skiing you can feel the ski’s presence, both the zone underfoot is stiff, but also the section just in front of the foot.
As soon as you pick up a bit of speed the ski tips vibrate and make noise; the front rocker is well and truly present!
The ski is nipped in a little at the waist, so moving into a turn is done with ease and skidding turns are a breeze. When you make use of the edges you can glide a nice long 20m radius but it isn’t easy to change.
If you ski with your weight slightly backwards it immediately vibrates and the fluidity is lost and it’s difficult to obtain a regular curve. It’s better if you load the ski tips a bit and you get a feeling of pressure on the ground, the carving subsequently improves.
With these skis you need to stay focused especially on a well groomed piste, it likes to vibrate and is very jumpy.
The structure sends a lot of the vibrations up into the legs, and it bangs. You can override this sensation if you have enough pressure on the skis. But the stiff point in front of the foot and its lack of continuity in the turns doesn’t make this an enjoyable piste ski. Off piste it works better especially in powder where it pivots easily. It lifts out of powder without any effort. Snazzy deco that glints in the sunshine.

I’m using the Prime 2.0 for touring. As you already wrote, on hard pists it is very hard to control this ski.
Off-pist I made the experience, that you have to really drive the ski. It needs some speed to control. It is definitely a ski for advanced skiers.
But – if you have the speed and control, it is a big pleasure to be in the driver seat!
It is a pity, that the tip has no protector. My skies are already looking like 5 years old.
