A sweater made with natural materials, mainly wool. It has a tight weave, which limits air passing through and ensures good thermal insulation. The Fjällraven Övik Nordic sweater w is not a wind stopper and provides good breathability. It should be worn with a protective layer in case of rain or windy conditions. It is more breathable than a fleece.
It is well-made and the wool has minimal bobbling. Please note, it is a bit big, if you want to have a snugger fit you should choose a size smaller than your usual one.
It is very comfortable to wear, it regulates hot and cool temperature peaks. It smells less than synthetic insulation. However, it must be hand-washed and you mustn’t put it in the tumble dryer.
We liked its elbow and forearm reinforcements, which are made from G-1000 Eco, eco-sustainable material. The ribbed cuff, neck and hip hems are both aesthetic, insulating and hold the sweater. You can wear it for skiing, snowshoeing, ski touring, and trekking. Its slightly vintage style means it’s great for sporting and daily use.
The Fjällraven Övik Nordic sweater w takes advantage of all wool’s qualities for outdoor use. There are of course downsides to this natural choice. But for snowshoeing, trekking and skiing, its insulation is really appreciated and its vintage look means you can wear it anywhere, not just in the outdoors.
