This version 10 of the V-Shape is not as interesting as the V8 already tested (https://www.test4outside.com/en/produit/head-v-shape-v8/) that received our Test4outside.com FIRST Award.
The Head V-Shape V10 are less easy to ski, less fun. The tail is more prominent than the V8. It doesn’t get in the way but it is irregular in its behavior, like the tips, it grips and lets go – you manage the ski by putting pressure on the tail. Even more so on compact snow where gripping needs more work. The V10 wedges into the edges and advances by segments, they aren’t very fluid. Maybe someone with a powerful build could generate a better performance.
The radius variations are done with technique and angulation, but actually the V10 stay in their 13,6m radius and it is difficult to change their mind!
Off piste the wide square tips help to lift out and cruise through mounds of snow. The structure absorbs the irregularities of the terrain pretty well and their ability to flat pivot is very interesting in choppy snow.
If the Head V-Shape V10 skis are a logical progression in the V-Shape range, we prefer the V8, more playful, enthusiastic and cheaper.
