We were very excited about weighing these Julbo Aero Lite sunglasses, 24 grams! Incredible! These ultra-lightweight sunglasses don’t even seem that fragile, although we would’ve liked to have a real hard case, as well as the soft bag, to protect them whilst travelling.
That said, the Aero Lite is surprising on several accounts. If we were to note everything in order first up would be the lens quality. The range of vision is exceptional, extremely wide and not limited by a frame. The lateral vision is superb and mega-comfortable. The clarity and quality of details are unrivalled.
During use, because there is no frame around the lens, sweat slides down the lens and drops off and practically leaves no mark behind. Could this be due to the anti-fog treatment?
The Spectron polycarbonate 3 CF lens has a UV protection of 3 and good resistance against shocks. It is designed to be versatile and adapts to use in most sports: trail running, triathlon, cycling, MTB, etc.
There is good ventilation and very little fogging up when working up a sweat. Speaking of comfort you really forget that you are wearing these as they are so light and comfortable.
The only desire we often find with Julbo glasses is the lack of lateral hold, we would like stiffer arms, especially for resting the glasses on top of your head. The nosepiece is comfortable and soft. We loved the well-designed shape of the lenses.
An utterly excellent pair of glasses, designed to go fast and far and keep you protected.
