This is an excellent ski that is at home off piste where it happily absorbs all the lumps and bumps of the terrain and filters vibrations superbly. It’s a real pleasure to ride as it makes no noise and serenity overcomes you. The well-rounded tip does its job well attacking mounds of snow with ease.
Despite the pronounced fore rocker this K2 Ikonic 84 Ti is a ski that gives you the feeling that the edge is long. There’s a little inertia in the tip but it doesn’t make much difference. Balance wise the K2 is simple, no fuss, it enters the turn and comes out of it in the same chilled out state that it started. The turn is fluid if we use the edges and accept doing a 17meter radius… even though you have the impression it’s longer.
It is also just at ease skidding turns and riding at a constant speed it doesn’t vibrate. Changing from edge-to-edge takes a bit of time, as the skis are so wide (84mm). Its grip could be better. Beautiful 3D structure, unfortunately not showcased enough due to its already seen design, with a tough and high quality top sheet. To recap, it’s a good all mountain ski that is comfortable off piste.
