Even if the MX89 skis’ edge bite and ride are amazing at all speeds the initiation into the turn is not as intuitive as a usual Kästle. The tip has to be levered so you need muscles in your thighs.
MX89 is missing the rocker and this is noticeable off piste and it’s hard going making turns in a lot of snow. The ski dips and fails to lift out of the snow much giving this tendency to pull straight ahead because there’s barely any structural deformation.
Choose the length of your skis carefully, don’t get them too long because they become demanding very quickly. It isn’t easy to change the radius. It is easier if you’re of a solid build with good technique. The look is classy and admirable.
