This Millet women’s ski jacket also exists in men’s (M WHITE NEO CARGO JKT), the fit is very well-designed, for skiing, ski touring and any outdoor activities (you just need to take the snow skirt off).
Tested last winter this Millet LD M White Neo Cargo is a technical jacket designed for protection. So do not expect an insulating effect. You need to wear it with a technical mid-layer, polar fleece, or something similar, even a down jacket depending on your personal warmth needs.

The jacket sits low over the hips, giving full protection against the wind and cold at the base of the back. In the rain the water trickles directly onto the trousers, even leaning forward.
The hood protects well and is adjustable in three places. The adjustment points are not that easy to handle wearing gloves (especially the one at the rear of the head).
But, on the other hand the small plastic ends don’t get in the way or move in the wind. The hood can fit over a helmet. Without a helmet the hood protects very well laterally. The strong positive point is the height of the collar, which is very high giving maximum protection, we loved this factor. The designers at Millet have very carefully left some volume around the neck to be able to wear extra layers underneath.
The Polartec® NeoShell® is slightly stretchy and respects the body’s movements, keeping the shape of the jacket and its look. The fabric does make a rustling noise when you move, but nothing too annoying. Polartec® states 15,000mm waterproofness. In wet snow or rain, the jacket keeps all humidity out for a very long time. Our experience out on the terrain tells us that complete waterproofness is never possible, the Millet guarantees a very interesting breathability for using for ski touring. To improve heat dispersion even more there are waterproof underarm zips: quite stiff to slide.
We also liked the soft sleeve ends that you can cover your hands with. Wearing gloves is also easy due to the careful cuff design. The Velcro® fastening is strong and easy to use.
All the zips are waterproof, and have thin cords with plastic ends, to make opening and closing easier. You need to use two hands to pull the central zip down or it gets stuck half way.
The Millet LD M White Neo Cargo jacket has multiple pockets and one is reserved for the Avalanche Transmitter. We prefer to carry the AT against the body in a harness, positioned higher up in the event of an avalanche. There is a very nice big pocket for your goggles. The jacket does have its own RECCO system that some ski resorts are kitted out with.
The finishings and collages are super high quality, top-of-the-range. You would have to see with time the durability of the shoulders, the delicate area where skis are carried.
This Millet LD M White Neo Cargo jacket is perfectly designed for skiing, freerando and useful all year round. Well fitted, doted with Polartec® NeaShell® you do have some breathability in the action. An expert jacket designed for adventure.
