The famous duffle bags that you see on yaks’ backs during Himalayan expeditions are now a part of a travelers kit.
We tested the Osprey Transporter 95 for several months all over the world, and we haven’t been disappointed.
You can always find cheaper, especially in this particular category, but the quality is not always the same.
On this Osprey bag nothing has been left to chance. You have the legendary practicality of the duffle bag with its large zip opening; easy and fast access. But it is the quality of the carrying straps that we especially noticed, the general robustness and ultra-tough zips, that make all the difference.
95 Liter volume, the bag is already big and heavy, and we already know what it’s like carrying a bag like this with straps that are too narrow. With the Transporter 95 you have real back pack style padded carrying straps. Even the chest strap hasn’t been forgotten (with a whistle as well!) to stabilize the weight. You’re just missing a waist belt that could fix onto two plastic clips on either side of the waist… We also noticed at the top of each shoulder strap there is even a load bearer strap which is extremely practical.
We particularly appreciated the presence of two wide robust handles to grab hold of the Transporter.
We had the same impression for the large robust zip. It is easy to use with a tag that is easy to grab. The zip slides very well and never gets stuck. You can padlock it.
Inside the bag there is a mesh pocket. It comes with a sack to store the bag inside, which you can use for storing some kit inside the Transporter when using it.
Two compressor straps allows you to make the bag smaller when not full, they slide well too.
This Transporter 95 is robust, practical, well-designed, manufactured with care and has excellent carrying comfort: without doubt a must have.
The only possible discussion would be for those who prefer wheels, you could go for the Rolling Transporter 90, that has wheels! For those who don’t like carrying.
