An undeniably excellent ski, we fell in love with this Rossignol Super 7 H. Versatile although maybe limited in its weight ratio – heavier skiers may find the ski deforms too much under too much pressure. It has a really playful and snappy feel. It turns with ease on the flat in any circumstances, it can also vary its turning curve: just push it, use angulation and a little pressure and you can change the turning curve.
The only turns it can’t handle are short carving turns. In wide turns at high speed the tip has a tendency to dip into the snow due to its tapered waist. It’s very lightweight and provides superb sensations due to its lack of inertia, therefore no wasted energy. We didn’t notice any untoward vibrations. The Rossignol Super 7 HD easily engages the edge and rides smoothly, providing a solid reassuring sound. The tail never blocks, except maybe in very delicate situations such as in a narrow gulley where it necessitates many back and forth movements. It glides perfectly backwards.
This Rossignol is a perfect mix between being accessible to a wide variety of skiers yet also having a very high performance level. A fat that suits everyone: beginners or experts for enjoying off-piste. An interesting observation is that the edge does not go all the way around the ski: as the ski ages it may be problematic.
