SAUCONY Guide ISO 2 TR

The Saucony ISO 2 TR are trail running shoes that you immediately feel good in thanks to their volume and comfortable foam padding. We also appreciated the thick tongue that spreads out the pressure of the classic flat laces.

It is quite rare to say that the laces slide easily right up to the front of the foot on a pair of shoes. So you can adjust them rapidly, and the shoes open up wide to slide your foot in easily.

They have good overall foothold. There’s no discomfort around the upper or forefoot protected by the stone guard, which is very supple.

The Saucony ISO 2 TR are not designed for very steep, slippery, extreme terrain requiring a lot of forefoot protection. They are flexible in the stride, but not so much in torsion, with many little lugs you can run either on the track or singles without any worries.

We were immediately surprised by the arch support. This area is firm and doesn’t squidge down. You lose feeling and subsequently a little confidence in cross-slopes because the torsional rigidity is so high.

The cushioning is limited even if it is a little more obvious in the heel. In the downhill, you can’t feel stones underfoot.

The front part of the sole is big and at the rear it’s wide giving a balanced good foot strike and rebound. Runners who like narrow and precise shoes should get used to them quickly.

The 8mm drop sets the runner into an attack position. Those used to a lower drop will prefer a different model because the sole is quite thick and you feel quite high.

290g in size 42.5 these Saucony are quickly forgotten about once you’re running. When the foam padding soaks up with water they get slightly heavier.

The Saucony ISO 2 TR lean to the side of comfort and ease on non-technical terrain. Easy to put on with not much grip, but enough for most paths. A classic design that is well made.
