The Volkl Flair SC Uvo is sleek and beautifully finished. There’s an integrated UVO dampening module for anti-vibrations, which apparently seems to work because we didn’t experience any. It has superb stability and great piloting in large turns. It keeps its speed but it is a carbon ski and therefore a bit rigid.
This rigidity in turn gives performance if you have the expertise to push it. In short turns you need to work it even more, you have to throw your whole being into it, technically and physically to push it. It bites securely in hard snow making it efficient and nicely stable.
Some testers found the ski “incredibly reassuring and trustworthy”. It’s difficult to tame in short turns. The screenprinting was judged to be aggressively beautiful…
