ZAG H-96 Patrol

FIRST

The ZAG H-96 are happy doing everything, very versatile for all mountain use.

These were a real treat to ski on slopes with mounds of snow, when it gets complicated these skis always find a solution. You don’t suffer from vibrations so you don’t quickly get tired legs, they filter and absorb, the tips work really well and the skis pivot without effort.

The skis stay inline, they don’t cross over each other, they are very fluid. You feel Zen, just superbly sublime skis for off-piste skiing.

On groomed slopes the ZAG H-96 make a slight noise as they vibrate a little bit. This becomes more obvious at high speeds. They are very pleasant carving, you easily find the edges and they turn long clean and precise curves. You do need to be awake and in control because they speed up left under their own devices without you  realizing! They are ridden mid-forefoot. If you lean a bit too much on your heel the tips take life especially on compact snow. As soon as you lean forward slightly the skis are magnificent, really performant. They aren’t so great at slow speeds but you can still get a good punch from them if you insist!

The ZAG H-96 easily go flat so you can skid if necessary. These are a real Swiss knife. They are really fun to ski, are very light (good option for freerando skiing). The only downside is for heavier built skiers who would probably very easily destroy them up front by distorting them too much.

We were pleasantly surprised by their grip, even on rough slopes, the ZAG H-96 still have great grip.

Well done ZAG for the H-96 Patrol that are perfect for riding difficult terrain where their sheer serenity of absorbing everything in their path and creating beautiful turns makes the skier super-Zen. They win without hesitation the Test4outside.com FIRST Award.
