Scott Pure Piste 77 Ti

The Scott Pure Piste 77 Ti boasts a very appealing design, particularly with its tip, which is typical of Scott skis. It has a nice metal tip piece screwed on (not integrated into the tip).

It’s a ski that can be described as high-performance on the piste, relatively solid. The front of the ski produces small vibrations on hard snow without really affecting its stability. Despite its advertised performance level, the Scott Pure Piste 77 Ti is a ski that you can forget about, it remains docile, which is a very big quality, make no mistake. However, more advanced skiers, who enjoy deep angulations, powerful edge grip, and heightened sensations, may find that this ski lacks a bit of excitement and assertive personality.

All types of skidded and slipped turns are easily achieved in an upright position; the Scott Pure Piste 77 Ti does not trap you once on edge, you can quickly put it sideways. The pivot is very easy even though some skis may turn into the curve more rapidly.

The Scott Pure Piste 77 Ti doesn’t transmit much energy back into the legs, the energy return is diffuse, it absorbs without being considered « soft ». It’s recommended for any skier looking for a user-friendly, docile product.

Finding edge grip is fairly easy if you are clear about your angulations. Again, some other skis do this more quickly, but the Scott Pure Piste 77 Ti is average for this type of exercise. Just tuck the knee in for the carved turn, and the Scott Pure Piste 77 Ti then follows a rather long, pleasant, and fairly smooth curve; no need to overthink the turn. The positive point? If you lean too far back, it forgives relatively well. There are generally no consequences to being unbalanced front or back. An adaptable ski.

A very powerful skier can deform the Scott Pure Piste 77 Ti a lot, especially on fairly steep slopes. Its grip deteriorates. For short turns with skidded/slipped edges, no problem. Longer turns, with carved edges, as we’ve seen, are part of the Scott Pure Piste 77 Ti’s repertoire. The flex is quite soft, linked to great docility.

Likewise, transitioning between large and small turns is easy. Good glide. Solid topsheet, as found on Fischer and some Kästle skis.

Not a very flashy ski, but it fulfills its mission with a performance level consistent with its advertised program of piste skiing aimed at an experienced skier.
