We hesitated to award a Core Test4outside accolade to the Nordica Enforcer 104 Free. Indeed, it’s not a ski for the faint-hearted; one must know how to take advantage of it, move at high speeds, and make powerful turns. Of course, one can always ski it “below its capabilities,” but it’s not enjoyable.
From the first turns, you can feel that it’s a dominant ski, relatively heavy with some pivot inertia. Its significant edge length is palpable. Its dimensions and construction contribute to this… On hard snow, the Nordica Enforcer 104 Free can be a bit tricky. One must always be somewhat vigilant in the entry phase of the turn and apply some steering. With a bit of speed, it gets better; with high speed, it’s even better!
It’s a ski capable of truly engaging the edge even though it has a very long lever arm. If you push the skis left and right, it can create very significant angles. This is super reassuring in high-speed turns, knowing you have stability underfoot.
In terms of construction, Nordica has done something serious with a double plate. A smaller skier has a significantly harder time mastering the Nordica Enforcer 104 Free. Stronger skiers, especially those with a forward skiing style, fare better as the ski requires being pressured to unleash its potential. Overall, as mentioned, you need to be engaged and not be complacent.
A powerful ski, born to go fast. It requires a skilled pilot to fully express itself.
