All our testing is done outside in real-life situations. Each team of testers has a mission; to ensure that each proposed product functions and fulfills all the challenges it must face outdoors satisfactorily.
ENDURE MANY WEEKS OF TESTING…
The products are tested using a detailed specifications sheet with multiple criteria. Each product reaction is judged and noted onto an analytical grid.
The gear is tested for weeks, even months. In this way we can provide genuine results on testing the product in the short term, but also in the long term to see how products react to wear and tear over time. Each test sheet has a category called: LONG TERM TEST.
EXPERT TESTERS
Our testers have extensive outdoor experience and in particular in product testing. At a technically elevated level, they have all been testing equipment for many years for some of the most well known outdoor magazines. They are tuned in to the finest details, needs, expectations and sensations, to be able to analyze with an experienced and critical eye.
Once all the outside tests have been completed, the test sheets are collected. Discussions are held between all the testers to understand and compare their constructive analyses, and the average marks are calculated to correctly summarize the product.
ULTIMATE REWARDS: THE AWARDS
The review is drawn up from all the testers’ observations and an award is chosen if the product deserves one.
There are three award levels for best products. They appear at the top right hand side of the sheet in the category “100 Best Products”.
The three award levels are the following:
FIRST: this is awarded as The reference, the perfect compilation of a flagship product in its range.
CORE: this is awarded to a technically sophisticated product, highly efficient in particular configurations, for specialized usage.
HOT DEAL: this is awarded to a product that provides the best value for money.
