Salomon Quest Echo

No doubt, we’re right in the vein of the Quest series, but with a lighter version that allows for exploring slopes for freeride touring without sweating too much on the ascent (1760 grams per ski). We retain the same skiability characteristics with a lot of rocker both in the front and back. This Salomon Quest Echo has a very minimal edge length. On hard snow, to carve the radius on the edge, a slight heel pressure is the key to achieving a beautiful turn. If you come too far forward, you’ll feel the tip vibrating a lot, losing quality in the turn.

Skied in a centered manner or with a slight heel pressure, you have grip and can start angulating by sending your feet laterally, away from the pelvis. The Salomon Quest Echo holds relatively well on hard snow, deploying a grip that isn’t ultra-natural, you need to be present. You need to press, apply some pressure, and manage your angulation.

The Salomon Quest Echo is very versatile on both groomed runs and off-piste. An excellent ski that can easily be skied in an alpine version with compatible bindings. All flat pivots are obtained effortlessly, without thinking: no inertia.

In chaotic terrains that shake, it absorbs, it filters. A very pleasant behavior. This Salomon Quest Echo also stays on track, in a direct line: it doesn’t cross and tends the trajectory in a healthy manner.

The Salomon Quest Echo has difficulty fitting into ski lift racks due to its raised tail.

You can make sequences of small skidded turns. In carved turns, the operation becomes more complex. You can maintain the curve, thanks to its relative fluidity (it taps in the tip). For off-piste skiing, it’s very pleasant due to its buoyancy. Excellent performance in wet late-season snow.

The question arises: Should you choose a classic Quest or an Echo dedicated to touring? Because the latter is an excellent ski.

A little nod, the Salomon Quest Echo adopts the colorful edges present in the Salomon Addikt series. Very classic design.

"For off-piste skiing, it's very enjoyable due to its buoyancy. Excellent performance in wet late-season snow."
