Atomic Redster G9

We find the same characteristics of the Atomic Redster G9 already tested in previous seasons. For the 2025 edition, it is still a very good ski, and it seemed to us that it’s slightly more energetic: is it just a perception or is it real?

It is a ski with nearly flawless stability, ideal for skiers who are confident in their technique and want to carve long turns at high speeds (or not). For those who no longer want (or never wanted) a competition ski.

A relatively accessible ski. It remains powerful and sticks to a certain turn radius, making it hard to change the radius. It accelerates, lays out superb turns; one tester even described it as “a blade.” It’s a very precise ski while still being relatively soft in its reactions, meaning it doesn’t transfer too much feedback into the legs. A skier with the stamina to pilot it all day will really enjoy it. The only drawback is on slopes with some bumps or crowded conditions; here, it’s important to reduce the speed and stay alert: once you’re on the edge, it’s like a high-speed train, not always easy to stop.

You’ll be surprised at how quickly you’re skiing at high speeds without too much concern. You might even get a little carried away by its power. With this Atomic Redster G9, you feel a bit like you have the right of way!

Finding the edge of the Atomic Redster G9 is fairly easy. It’s narrow underfoot, and by just engaging the knee a bit, it locks in and flows. On hard snow, you need to pick up some speed to get a strong edge grip, otherwise, it becomes prone to understeering.

Great glide. Design we’ve already seen before. When you buy an Atomic, you’re buying performance on the snow, not a fancy look. The metallic tip attached to the shovel is not ideal; we’d have preferred it integrated into the structure.

Of course, small carved turns are impossible. You’ll need to slide and drift to drastically reduce the radius.

With the Redster G9, Atomic sticks to its proven formula. You don’t change a recipe that works. In our view, it’s missing a bit of assistance, a bit more ease while maintaining its performance level. Maybe this will be the future direction for the ski’s development?

A very good, demanding ski. A great recipe that works for a skilled skier who has the legs to handle it.
