Salomon Addict Pro 76

FIRST

We had the opportunity to test the Salomon Addict Pro 76 in 170 cm, which is a notably short length considering how easy this ski is to handle. One could easily ski it in a 10 cm longer size.

This is a very light ski, with no noticeable inertia in the tip. It feels like you’re skiing with a mid-range ski underfoot, yet its performance is quite convincing: it offers great energy underfoot. What is its structure, materials, and durability? In any case, the Salomon Addict Pro 76 is both light, ultra-easy, and performant.

On edge, it develops excellent carving capabilities. The skier is not at all limited by the radius, and entering a turn is easy. The Salomon Addict Pro 76 is slightly oversteering. You can enter the curve with a carved edge directly or with a skidded edge, both directional effects work very well. The maneuver is instinctive. Once you’re on edge, the Salomon Addict Pro 76 holds its short radius, but it’s extremely easy to modulate. It’s easier to extend the radius by working the heel.

The only limitation we see with this ski is the size and power of the skier who might push it too hard. Deformation at the tip is possible, while the rear heel is stronger. One should avoid being caught off guard by leaning too far back.

Overall, this is not a tricky ski. The Salomon Addict Pro 76 is very pleasant to ski, almost like a little toy, with its colorful design, like a tangy candy. We love its swallowtail. Well built.

The Salomon Addict Pro 76 is particularly exciting in short turns with carved edges, which is quite rare to achieve. Normally, that’s not easy to do. Interestingly, it’s also comfortable in long turns. The Salomon Addict Pro 76 tends to skid in straight lines because it’s fairly shaped. It has excellent glide (the ski was well-prepared).

The grip is excellent for skiers up to 75 kg. On ice, it performs really well, a great surprise given its light weight, which didn’t suggest such a strong performance.

Another major quality: the Salomon Addict Pro 76 doesn’t transfer vibrations to the legs; it absorbs them well. We really liked that.

The diecut on the base offers very fresh colors, with fine edge lines.

An excellent, playful, very accessible, light, and grippy ski that remains highly performant. It has an excellent ability to vary the turn radii. Everything a skier who loves carving and piste skiing needs. A very impressive ski. Award First, without hesitation.
