We really enjoyed testing the new 361° Ventus, which proved effective on both long-distance runs and daily training sessions.
First and foremost, its unique cushioning. The 361° Ventus provides effective shock absorption under both the forefoot and heel. It’s well-balanced — not overly soft — and doesn’t compromise stability. But what truly stands out is the “timing” of the cushioning, or rather its duration. It works in two phases: initial shock absorption, followed quickly by a firmer response. As a result, the shoe offers a plush landing but reconnects quickly with the ground, allowing for a smooth transition and solid toe-off. The Ventus encourages a strong, responsive stride.
Its 8 mm drop (27 mm at the forefoot, 35 mm at the heel) feels well suited for this type of shoe. The forward roll is noticeable and efficient, though not as aggressive as some competitors.
The overall craftsmanship is impressive, with careful construction and refined finishes. Comfort is excellent, and the foot is held securely. The oval-shaped laces do their job well and stay tied without needing a double knot. The tongue is also well-padded and pleasant to wear.
The outsole grip is clearly designed for 100% road use, though we did notice a well-protected toe cap — a small detail that might hint at occasional off-road potential on light trails.
A superb road shoe offering comfort and well-calibrated cushioning, without sacrificing the responsive ride that defines the 361° Ventus. Meticulous build quality rounds off a very strong package.
