A bold, eye-catching design makes it easy to spot the Rossignol Sender Free 100 in deep powder after a tumble. The edge line wraps around the tip for added durability, and the transparent fiber construction looks stunning in the light.
On hard snow, the Sender Free 100’s tip vibrates slightly and produces a characteristic hum—nothing disruptive or that affects performance. In soft snow, that same tip really shines: it floats beautifully, smooths out uneven terrain, and prevents you from diving forward in moguls or variable snow.
The tail design is equally playful, ideal for skiing switch or sliding backwards through narrow chutes. The downside? That raised twin tip can be annoying when you try to fit the skis into lift racks.
The Sender Free 100 is remarkably easy to pivot. It feels shorter underfoot than it actually is, which helps in short turns despite its relatively long turning radius. The ride is smooth and forgiving—even on hardpack, it doesn’t send harsh feedback to your legs. It’s a ski that’s simply enjoyable: friendly, intuitive, and never overpowering. Neither the tip nor the tail ever feel grabby or unstable.
Despite its width, the Sender Free 100 engages easily on edge, delivering fluid carved turns and allowing for decent angulation. It holds well through the arc, even though the rockered tip and tail reduce effective edge length—meaning the skier’s weight is distributed over a shorter edge surface, increasing pressure per centimeter.
Torsional stiffness is well tuned: the Sender Free 100 doesn’t twist or flap on hard, steep slopes. Flex is well-balanced, bringing fluidity and confidence through turns. You can vary turn shapes, though it takes some input on the front of the ski to fully control tighter radii.
It skis best from a centered or slightly back stance; heavy forward pressure reduces precision. But once you engage the tail, the ski comes alive—responsive, balanced, and secure.
It’s light in hand, though some textured ridges would help with grip when carrying it in gloves. Glide quality is solid.
Overall, the Rossignol Sender Free 100 is a versatile and accessible performer—playful yet capable, comfortable yet confident. A true do-it-all ski that continues the strong Sender lineage.
