The Völkl Blaze 82 is an interesting ski due to its versatility. It is comfortable to ski on as it absorbs well when the terrain gets difficult. It has a well-distributed stiffness along the ski: no excess on either side. This allows for smooth curve execution without any jarring movements.
Depending on the angle between the ski and the snow, and the pressure applied to the ski, different turning radii can be achieved. Curve handling, whether on edge or in pivoting/skidding, is done effortlessly. One can do almost anything they want—oversteer, understeer, ski at higher speeds…
The Völkl Blaze 82 is quite playful, it doesn’t require immense power from the skier or exceptional physical fitness. It offers ease and comfort to the skier while maintaining a moderately average weight.
The slight lift in the tail also facilitates pivoting, the overall flexibility, and a fairly flat rocker in the front allows for good ski flotation. The ski’s progressiveness is commendable.
