The Faction Dancer 2 is a delightful surprise! We’ve come across an excellent freeride or all-mountain ski, unless it’s the other way around…
Firstly, the Faction boasts a beautiful, understated design. However, it’s primarily a very consistent ski, comfortable in all aspects of the game. It’s not a tricky ski; it smoothly transitions from sliding to drifting turns, always serving the skier.
Flattening the Faction Dancer 2 is also very easy—a great feature when you need a ski to drift, put it sideways, especially in wooded areas. The Faction Dancer 2 even excels in survival mode, making maneuvers easier.
Despite its sidecut of 96 millimeters underfoot, the ski maintains healthy edge control. The grip instills confidence. However, its limits become apparent at higher speeds. It doesn’t necessarily hug the snow tightly, so you need to keep an eye on it when the speedometer climbs significantly. Due to its oversteering nature, it doesn’t always follow a clear trajectory; it can be a bit divergent. However, everything falls into place when you apply pressure; it then unwinds very well.
It allows for lengthening the turns, but it’s also effortless to shorten them. Within certain limits, of course, or it will lose grip. It’s particularly enjoyable in carved turns, emitting a characteristic sound on hard surfaces. A friendly ski that immediately feels right. With it, there’s no need for a complicated user manual; everything is achieved quickly and effortlessly.
One of its great qualities is that it doesn’t transmit much feedback to the legs. It absorbs small bumps, allowing for high speeds in off-piste terrain.
On-piste, the Faction Dancer 2 is an excellent ski, suitable for carving on the edges, having fun in the moguls. It doesn’t possess outstanding glide.
The super bonus: the Faction Dancer 2 comes with XL edges of 2.5 millimeters, meaning you can sharpen them more frequently.
A very pleasant surprise. A well-designed, stable, highly versatile ski that’s not overpowering but brings joy to the skier.
