This Häglofs L.I.M Hybrid Touring Hood jacket is designed for ski touring. It has a classic design, with a noticeable number of seams and tapes. This adds weight, and aesthetically, it’s not very pleasing to the eye. Worn over a t-shirt (a rare configuration), you can feel all the panel adjustments. With that said, once accepted, you discover an effective jacket for ski touring because it’s both flexible (stretchy) and fairly breathable. We tested it with the Häglofs L.I.M Hybrid Touring Pant.
However, be aware that the fit is very close to the body; you need to size up if you want to wear an insulating layer underneath, such as a fleece or thin down jacket.
The protection provided by the Häglofs L.I.M Hybrid Touring Hood is good, thanks to its windproof properties and the shape of its hood. However, the hood is too small to accommodate a ski helmet.
The waterproof zippers slide well. The two large chest pockets also act as vents. Therefore, there are no zippers under the arms… An unusual technical option for a hiking jacket, as you may experience temperature increases during ascents. And opening a pocket with items inside to ventilate doesn’t seem like a very convincing solution.
The manufacturing quality is not up to current standards: a multitude of seams, some of which are poorly executed. It’s a shame because this jacket is comfortable during activity.
