Dynastar E Lite 9

The Dynastar E Lite 9 remains that ski with an incredibly smooth snow feel, which is very pleasant. It has a performance level slightly below that of the Rossignol Nova 14, with notably a less pronounced “carving” character. Despite its narrow waist and 12-meter radius, the Dynastar E Lite 9 has a slightly delayed edge entry. This can actually be an advantage, as it gives you time to position yourself, and you won’t be surprised by the immediate carving effect.

To get the ski to carve effectively, you need to add some input, as it doesn’t do it spontaneously.

Another positive aspect, aside from the “delayed” entry into the turn, is the Dynastar E Lite 9‘s ability to ski with skidded turns. Simply slide in an upright position, set the ski flat, or even engage a little turning, and the ski will follow the movement. If you want to carve, then, as usual, you need to spread your feet and use angulation.

On edge, the Dynastar E Lite 9 provides very convincing support for a skilled skier. Its grip on ice is very good. An expert skier will find the tip less energetic; the ski deforms significantly at the front if you apply a heavy pressure, causing it to enter the curve very quickly—it requires management.

The “hinge” effect underfoot is interesting because you can vary the radius and flex the ski to your liking.

As already mentioned, the ski is very smooth. It’s not aggressive, it doesn’t pull you along, and it never locks you into a hard heel edge. It’s pleasant for carving but not only that. It performs well in steeper slopes, and you can choose to carve or skid as you wish.

The finish is excellent, and kudos for the ribs that make carrying the ski easy, even with a wet glove. The rubberized heel absorbs shocks well. Gold inserts complete the look.
