Smith really knows how to make sunglasses and goggles, and they’ve just proved it again with these stunning I / O7.
Let’s get rid of the two minor criticisms from the outset: the very slight noise of the materials when the goggles bend and the lens changing; but that is often the case with most brands anyway.
For all the rest the good points just keep mounting up. Firstly the comfort is unbeatable thanks to the different densities of soft foam that perfectly mold to the form of your face. Also worth noting is how the preformed foam curves neatly around your nose! Another unbeatable design and detail that provides unbelievable comfort. These goggles all exist in Asian sizing.
One of the strongest points of these Smith goggles concerns are the stabilizers (two yellow fluorescent pieces on the test model, or red on the presentation photo). The two extremities of the strap are fixed onto these pivoting feet. Also the goggles can be angled with the strap for more comfort.
These Smith goggles are designed for average to small sized faces. They sit well under a helmet without taking up half of your face and without slipping down.
The strap is very good quality, with an anti-slip silicone band that resists movement. The strap unclips easily and quickly. Idem for adjusting its length: child’s play!
We tried both lenses : the solar lens and the bad weather lens. Both of them do not fog up. The solar lens filters well, in the norm that you would expect from these type of goggles. In bad weather the pink lens improves details and helps with visibility. Absolutely nothing to criticize here either. They have a wide field of vision and the lenses don’t suffer easily from scratches, especially the solar lens where the protective covering is well present.
The Smith I /07 is a very good product, high performance and tough, that you forget you are wearing in the action, not forgetting its use, visibility and protection.
