Here comes the new version of the 361° Taroko—we previously did a full review of the Taroko 3.
Visually, there are some clear updates to the mesh, toe guard, and lacing system, but the shoe’s purpose remains the same: it’s designed as an entry-level trail shoe, ideal for park runs, gravel paths, and mild singletracks. It also comes at a very budget-friendly price.
As expected, the 361° Taroko 4 focuses on accessibility. Comfort is high, the padding is generous, and the sole remains flexible.
On the run, it delivers a very traditional ride, quite far from today’s oversized, rocker-equipped (and often more expensive) trail shoes. With the Taroko 4, there’s no forward tipping sensation—you keep a steady stride and maintain your rhythm.
Cushioning is relatively light, with more support at the heel and very subtle impact absorption under the metatarsals.
The standout feature of the 361° Taroko 4 is its stability. Even with a listed 9 mm drop, the low-profile midsole keeps you close to the ground, which adds to the sense of control.
Build quality is solid, with reliable materials and a well-finished construction.
A solid, accessible entry point into trail running—well-made and built for easygoing off-road adventures.
