In these types of conditions the Zag, with its 122mm tip and slight rocker, has a wail of time.
It pivots easily in this type of snow and when the terrain gets rough it stays pretty stable considering it’s so light; if you keep your speed up!
On compact snow the turning grip and curve are ok if the terrain isn’t too steep and the snow isn’t too hard. In other scenarios you have to use the classic solution of flat pivoting and skidding. The ski enables the ski tourer to enjoy very lightweight gear for the uphill and to descend calmly with a little more ease.
