The Helly Hansen Odin BC Infinity Shell Pant meets the same high standards as the matching jacket.
We immediately appreciated the lightness and flexibility of this 3-layer pant. Despite weighing just 490 grams, it offers solid waterproof protection and abrasion resistance suitable for backcountry and ski touring use. That said, we’ll need to monitor the long-term durability, particularly in the reinforced areas designed to protect against ski edges—a known weak spot in some Helly Hansen ski pants.
The adjustable gaiters are well-suited to the volume of both touring and freeride boots. The bottom of the Helly Hansen Odin BC Infinity Shell Pant features a snap closure to prevent the cuffs from opening while walking in deep snow.
All the zippers are waterproof—except for the fly—and they slide smoothly without creating any uncomfortable folds.
The two thigh pockets are well-sized: not too bulky, which means minimal interference with leg movement while still allowing you to carry small essentials.
We really liked the fit around the hips and the waist closure system, which uses a metal hook, two snap buttons, and a flat micro-belt that doesn’t cause pressure points under a harness.
The side zip is not full-length, meaning you can’t fully open the pants from the side. However, if your ski boots are not too bulky, you can still put the pants on or take them off without removing your footwear.
An excellent ski touring pant—well cut, flexible, and waterproof.
