On the ground, the Klättermusen Gondul Hood Jkt proves to be a standout in terms of comfort and efficiency. Incredibly comfortable thanks to its soft and flexible fabric (and easily compressible), it offers excellent insulation. It can be worn as a mid-layer under a protective shell, or on its own in temperatures ranging from around 10°C down to -5°C. While it is wind-resistant and water-repellent, it is not a full-on waterproof shell — under prolonged light rain, you will eventually get wet.
High-Performance Materials
One of the standout features of the Gondul Hood Jkt is the use of PrimaLoft® Gold Active+ insulation. This synthetic fill is both lightweight and moisture-resistant, allowing the jacket to dry quickly and avoiding the weight gain typical of untreated down. The insulation is evenly distributed throughout the jacket, avoiding any cold spots — it’s warm enough for active hiking use, without causing overheating.
Tailored Fit and Functionality
Attention to detail in the cut is remarkable: the jacket provides freedom of movement while maintaining a close, ergonomic fit around the arms. The wrist area deserves special mention, with soft inserts and an asymmetrical cuff design that enhances comfort and protection.
The hood is snug and well-designed, featuring an adjustment drawcord at the back of the head for a close fit. A semi-rigid visor adds a bit of structure and protection.

We especially liked the offset front zipper, which adds a touch of style while preventing the zipper pull from rubbing against the chin — a thoughtful and practical design choice.
