This insulated bottle comes with quite a name: CamelBak Thrive Flip Straw Insulated Stainless Steel 600ml. Among all similar products we tested last summer, the Thrive Flip stood out as one of the best at keeping drinks hot — even a full day later, in mild conditions, the contents were still warm.
CamelBak clearly focused on practicality with this model. The soft mouthpiece is easy and pleasant to drink from (just don’t chew on it), and the soft rubber base prevents the bottle from making noise when set down. It also keeps it from sliding — a nice touch. The wide opening makes filling and cleaning effortless.
Of course, with that soft base and the solid, screw-on lid, the weight adds up: 390 grams. That makes it less suitable for long-distance fast hiking, and more for short outings or relaxed trips.
One of its key features is the built-in straw, which allows you to drink without tilting your head back — a detail that’s both practical and elegant. The straw system is also easy to clean.
In short, this is an effective and very practical insulated bottle, though a bit on the heavy side for lightweight adventures. Ideal for camping, short hikes, or nearby bivouacs.
