Tested with the ImpactX photochromic lens, which has a rosy tint, this Rudy Project lens is designed for endurance and/or intense sports, as well as water sports. While the Rudy Project Turbolence can be used for trail running and cycling, it is particularly effective for cross-country skiing.
Its adaptive lens adjusts to variations in light, becoming lighter or darker as needed. Some reflections may be noticed, but they are not significantly bothersome. The contrasts and details are well-managed, with no distortion between the top and bottom of the lens.
Very lightweight, the Rudy Project Turbolence has a unique feature: a sponge-like support above the eyes to absorb sweat. The fit on the face is excellent; the temples are both flexible and firm. The sunglasses also stay securely on the head. Comfort is great, as you don’t feel the weight (30 grams measured) or the structure.
The nose bridge is adjustable, and the plastic is quite firm. The Rudy Project Turbolence doesn’t squeak. It can also be equipped with a safety cord to hang around the neck.
