We were excited to try out this storage bag designed for ski boots, a helmet, goggles, and other accessories. The concept of a dedicated ski boot bag is excellent. However, for alpine or freeride use, a larger model like the Osprey Mountain Bound Boot Pack Plus is a better choice.
The Osprey Mountain Bound Boot Pack easily accommodates ski boots — stored upside down, much like in a ski boot box. Even boots equipped with the Dual Boa System fit without issue. However, the top compartment isn’t large enough to hold a ski helmet; a climbing helmet fits, but bulkier ski helmets do not. That space is better reserved for goggles, sunglasses, or small accessories in the zippered pocket.
The bag can be loaded from the top or from the side. The side zip opening gives access to a clever fold-out mat, allowing you to put on or take off your boots without getting your feet dirty.
Carrying comfort is good, even though the back panel is flat — but to be fair, the Mountain Bound Boot Pack isn’t designed for hiking.
Build quality is excellent, and the materials feel durable. Some zippers — particularly the one inside the top compartment — could slide a bit more smoothly.
The handles are solid and well positioned; the side handle even lets you carry the bag briefcase-style, which is a nice touch.
We would have liked to see a ventilation system to help moisture escape after skiing.
In short, the Osprey Mountain Bound Boot Pack is a compact, well-built ski boot bag, ideal for storing your boots and small accessories — though not large enough for a full-sized ski helmet. A sturdy, practical bag that does exactly what it’s designed to do.
