We tested the Intense ski pants by Sun Valley in winter conditions and were particularly impressed by their highly aesthetic fit, which enhances the silhouette by harmoniously shaping the curves. The close-fitting cut, combined with a highly stretchable fabric, ensures both excellent support and great freedom of movement, which is essential when skiing.
The Intense ski pants by Sun Valley feature a thermal lining combined with a very soft and warm inner fabric. This design allows them to be worn directly against the skin, without tights, while still providing good thermal comfort. However, it is also possible to add a very thin, slippery base layer, such as nylon tights, to avoid excess thickness and friction with the inner material.
We observed effective waterproofing and a high-performance windproof function: water beads off the surface without being absorbed by the fabric, which has a slightly glazed appearance. The externally sealed seams ensure consistent waterproofing and enhance overall protection against moisture.
The high waist is equipped with belt loops and Velcro adjustment tabs, allowing for a precise fit to suit different body shapes.
The fabric of the Intense ski pants by Sun Valley also features quick-drying properties, which are particularly appreciated during prolonged exertion or in damp conditions.
The front closure consists of a plastic zipper with internal and external lining to provide thermal protection and prevent direct contact with the skin. This is reinforced by two snap buttons and a securing hook, designed to withstand the stresses caused by movement.
The Intense ski pants by Sun Valley include two deep side pockets, lined and secured with waterproof zippers. The zippers are fitted with pull tabs for easy handling, even when wearing gloves.
The leg length is well proportioned: long enough without excess, they do not drag on the ground and do not create unsightly folds. At calf level, an internal snow skirt with elastic ensures a secure fit around ski or hiking boots and limits air and snow infiltration.
The lower legs of the Intense ski pants by Sun Valley are reinforced on the inside to better withstand abrasion from ski edges. However, this reinforcement does not guarantee full protection against fabric cuts, which we consider a notable weakness. The pants are available in black or hazelnut colorways.
