Right away, a few technical changes stand out on this 361° Futura 3. The outsole has been reworked, Vibram has been dropped, the lacing system over the instep now features six eyelets instead of the previous five, and the rock guard adopts a new design.
On the trails, the 361° Futura 3 is still designed for technical terrain, and it strikes a very successful balance between cushioning and stability. Foot placement is precise, the heel stays secure without drifting, and ground contact feels reliable. Over the miles, as fatigue sets in and running form begins to deteriorate, you can rely on the cushioning to absorb and correct foot placement errors.
The new outsole performs well across most surfaces, particularly on wet sections.
