The Atomic Cloud 12 is first and foremost a beautiful looking ski. There is a kind of imitation “velvety” look on the top of the skis that gives a very elegant and feminine appearance.
Even if the radius is a bit too long for a ski that must be used on piste the Atomic is an easy ski to ride for expert skiers or for an upper intermediate skier.
We found them easy in the initiation phase but less performant skiing on the edges. Too much pressure and the skis lose grip. So you need to be well-positioned and spread the pressure correctly. Lightweight skiers will particularly enjoy themselves with these performance skis.
We obviously noticed the innovation marked “Servotec” on the skis. This is a small metallic bar in the center of the skis that leaves the binding. This system is supposed spread and transmit the skier’s pressure better. For years and years ski brands have offered this type of system that are more or less efficient. We remember well the “Prolink” (Salomon), recently Rossignol have used a system like this on racing skis. Coming back to Atomic we didn’t really feel the difference that the “Servotec” provides. It does give a “techno” side to the skis though.
The Atomic Cloud 12 is a great performance women’s ski for technical skiers who know what « pressure variations » means.
