The ski of all superlatives. Styled like a racing ski, the Atomic Redster G9 comes with carbon and metal inserts. This is an exceptional ski because it’s both incredibly powerful and surprisingly accessible. Right from the start, it earned the First Award TEST4OUTSIDE. It has everything going for it—except the tip finish, which looks a bit cheap.
Otherwise, the picture is as exciting as it gets. Where do you even start, with so many qualities? This ski reaches excellence across every aspect of the game. Its glide is outstanding. The Atomic Redster G9 is high-performing, extremely stable at any speed, yet remains easy to handle, never locking the skier into one style. It’s almost a mystery: how did Atomic pull this off?
Equipped with a plate, it still adapts even to lighter skiers, proving approachable. The steering and sidecut feel delightful, the ski flows effortlessly with superb fluidity. It accelerates smoothly without being punishing at the tail.
It’s incredibly fast—some testers even claimed 20 km/h faster than comparable skis—yet never intimidating. It absorbs vibrations underfoot, doesn’t kick energy back into your legs, and lets you ski very fast on edge. Or not: you can just as easily pivot it sideways; neither tip nor tail ever locks you in. It’s comfortable and confidence-inspiring.
At first glance, it may look stiff and demanding—but that’s not the case at all. Instead, it delivers generously, never holding the skier back, always giving enthusiasm, energy, and the desire to go fast, with full control. Its radius versatility is remarkable: although its stated sidecut is 17 meters, you can easily lengthen it, but also tighten it into shorter carved turns—surprisingly so. The ski yields at the front, the tip flexing just enough to adapt.
It tracks straight without washing out. Torsional stiffness is excellent. No tip noise on hard snow, no vibration.
This is excellence embodied. Offering both performance and accessibility, it can charge at very high speeds with authority, yet also slow down without ever overpowering the skier. Award First TEST4OUTSIDE—without question.
