The Black Pearl is undeniably a great ski on the piste, especially in long turns. It’s lively and firm, of course it’s carbon. It vibrates a little in tight turns and is difficult to do skidding turns because the edges bite fast.. You need a fair amount of skill to exploit them so these Blizzards are targeted at good skiers with technical finesse. Off-piste it has what it needs but they have a kick that can be surprising as they respond.
On groomed-pistes they are dynamic but as soon as you hit changes of terrain they vibrate, the structure and the shape are designed more for the piste with their 88mm width and 16metre radius. Good balance is a necessity because this ski is specialized and you need to use angulation. Definitely an expert’s ski.
