This Elan puts itself a part by a « right » and « left » ski, the rocker on the inside edge is less noticeable than on the outside edge. You get a more powerful carving effect once you are on the edge and the initiation into the curve is made easier.
The geometry is interesting and you can feel the difference on the snow.
The Ripstick 86 W can manage short skidding turns but carving short turns is not really its thing.
If the slope isn’t too steep it enjoys carving wide turns.
The tip and tail are light so there is great maneuverability. And any small placement errors are excused thanks to this flexibility.
The center of the ski is reinforced with carbon fiber, which gives the ski kick and stability in the turns.
Off piste in choppy snow conditions and bumpy or crusty snow, it is sure footed and reacts well.
This Elan Ripstick 86 W ski is ideal for intermediate to expert skiers who want to mess about on all types of terrain without having to deal with a ski that is too overpowering.
