We didn’t have much enthusiasm to ride the Faction Dictator 2.0 because of its shape. We’ve had it with flighty skis, more designed for drifts than really carving turns. However, under the guise of a twin-tip the Faction Dictator 2.0 reacts pretty well. We were forced to change our minds.
We discovered a ski that was easy to pivot and initiate turns without effort. It is comfortable in all snow conditions and deforms logically according to the pressure.
Faction states a 20-meter radius (19 registered on the ski). The retail price 649 euros has changed to 449 euros (even less), which is a good deal if this is your targeted ski type (read below).
We were surprised at its grip on hard snow or even icy snow: it grips despite the tip vibrating, which made not a very nice noise.
What materials are used? Did Faction invest in its structure? Anyway, the straight edges provide good support underfoot that makes up for the vibrating tip.
The Faction Dictator 2.0 is a pleasant ski in all whose performance is limited: an experienced ski or even a moderate skier can enjoy it. Its accessibility is its main quality. Its unassertive character becomes a quality for those who don’t want to fight with a dominant ski. For more physical and technical skiers, the Faction Dictator 2.0 is nothing exceptional.
